VALD Assessments

VALD Assessments

At Body Logic, objective measurement is combined with clinical expertise to provide a clear understanding of your strength, balance, movement and physical performance.

Using advanced VALD technology, clinicians can assess how your body moves, identify areas for improvement, establish a baseline, and track progress throughout rehabilitation, performance training and long-term health management.

Whether you’re recovering from pain or injury, returning to sport, preparing for surgery, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking to perform at your best, understanding how your body functions is an important first step.

Understand Your Strengths, Identify Weaknesses, and Move with Confidence

VALD assessments provide accurate, objective data to identify weakness, movement limitations and side-to-side differences that may affect performance, recovery or everyday function.

By combining these insights with clinical expertise, Body Logic clinicians can develop targeted treatment and exercise programs tailored to your goals. Regular reassessment allows us to measure progress and ensure your rehabilitation or performance plan remains on track.

What Is VALD Technology?

VALD (pronounced “VOLD”) means power and might in ancient North Germanic language.

Rather than relying solely on observation, VALD technology provides precise, measurable data about how the body moves and produces force.

Using advanced assessment tools including DynaMo and ForceDecks, Body Logic clinicians can objectively assess strength, balance, mobility, power and movement performance. This information helps establish a baseline, identify areas for improvement providing meaningful feedback and supporting informed rehabilitation, return-to-sport, return-to-work decisions and long-term health management.

VALD assessments can be used to:

  • Measure strength accurately
  • Assess balance and stability
  • Identify side-to-side differences and asymmetries
  • Monitor rehabilitation progress
  • Establish baseline performance measures
  • Support return-to-sport and return-to-work decisions
  • Track improvements over time using objective data

Who Can Benefit from VALD Assessments?

VALD assessments are suitable for:

  • People recovering from pain or injury
  • Individuals preparing for or recovering from surgery
  • Athletes seeking performance testing
  • People managing chronic pain or chronic health conditions
  • Older adults wanting to assess strength, balance and falls risk
  • Workers returning from injury
  • Anyone wanting a detailed understanding of their physical capacity

DynaMo - Precise Strength Testing

The VALD DynaMo is an advanced handheld dynamometer used to accurately measure muscle strength and range of motion throughout the body.

Unlike traditional manual muscle testing, DynaMo provides objective measurements that can be tracked over time, helping to identify weaknesses and monitor improvements throughout rehabilitation.

Common assessments include:

This allows clinicians to develop highly targeted treatment and exercise programs based on measurable deficits and individual needs.

ForceDecks

Advanced Force and Movement Analysis

ForceDecks are dual force plates that measure how you interact with the ground during a range of movements. They provide detailed information about strength, power, balance, movement strategies and limb asymmetries.

ForceDecks assessments can be used to evaluate:

  • Balance and postural control
  • Sit-to-stand performance
  • Squatting mechanics
  • Jump and landing performance
  • Lower limb strength
  • Power production
  • Weight distribution between limbs
  • Functional movement capacity

This information is particularly valuable for:

  • Sports injury rehabilitation
  • ACL rehabilitation
  • Return-to-sport testing
  • Falls risk assessment
  • Balance and mobility concerns
  • Osteoarthritis and joint replacement rehabilitation
  • Neurological and chronic health conditions
