Exercise during cancer treatment: A key factor in reducing hospitalisation
A recent study, published in BJSM (British Journal of Sports Medicine) explains how exercise can help cancer patients to reduce the risk of hospital admissions and/or can help decrease the days spent admitted in hospital.
The study found that cancer patients given exercise programmes were less likely not to be admitted to hospital by 8%, compared to those patient who did not receive an exercise programme. Furthermore, admitted patients reduced their stay in hospital by 1.4 days.
