Dr JP Caneiro is a Specialist Physiotherapist* with over 20 years of experience as a clinician, researcher and lecturer in musculoskeletal pain management. He has published over 50 research papers and presented at key conferences globally. An emerging leader in chronic pain, particularly back pain and osteoarthritis, Dr Caneiro has maintained a longstanding relationship with Curtin University since 2007 and was recently appointed Adjunct Associate Professor in recognition of his contribution to research, education and evidence-based clinical practice.
Dr JP Caneiro consults three days per week at Body Logic where he reviews patients with complex musculoskeletal pain presentations, in particular lower back and knee pain. JP worked with athletes of many sporting organisations and was part of the Australian Rowing medical team for many years.
Dr JP Caneiro provides mentoring to the clinical staff to ensure the highest level of clinical care is provided within the practice. He also delivers community lectures to better inform consumers on the evidence about pain management.
Born and raised in Brazil, JP also speaks Portuguese fluently.
In JP’s spare time, he loves enjoying life with his young family, and keeping physically active through exercise and the practice of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
