Carly completed her undergraduate Physiotherapy degree at the University of Birmingham in the UK in 2003. She completed her Post Graduate Masters of Clinical Physiotherapy at Curtin University in 2013. She has worked in private practice and in public hospital outpatients and multidisciplinary pain clinics in both the UK and Australia. She also currently works part time as an advanced scope physiotherapist in a public hospital spinal clinic and in their multidisciplinary pain clinic.
Carly was a treating clinician in RESTORE trial published in the LANCET journal, exploring the use of Cognitive Functional Therapy for the treatment of patients with chronic lower back pain (restorebackpain.com). She is involved in ongoing research relating to chronic spinal conditions.
Carly has a special interest in helping people with complex chronic pain conditions, particularly spinal pain and hip pain. She also has significant experience in managing and rehabilitating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. She enjoys working with people to explore the relevant factors that contribute to their pain or restriction in function, in order to help them achieve their goals.
Outside of work Carly enjoys being active, particularly getting outdoors with her family and their energetic Labrador. She also enjoys travel, cooking, and enjoying watching her children in their various sporting activities.
